CIRCforBIO Open Events

The CIRCforBIO project is happy to announce that it will hold 10 open events to demonstrate the results of the project. Participants are welcome to join in-person in the Technological and Cultural Park in Lavrio, Attica.
The LIFE CIRCforBIO project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (gases responsible for climate change), mainly by replacing fossil fuels with advanced biofuels, that is, fuels derived from biomass (any organic source). More specifically, biomass derived from separated food waste (households), business waste (cafes, restaurants and bakeries) and agricultural residues of the Municipality of Lavreotiki as well as from food industries (brewery, potato industry and fruit juice industry) are valorised within a novel biorefinery system at the Lavrion Technological Park, bioconverting it into a range of value-added products such as biodiesel, bioethanol, biogas and fertilizer.
The focus of each event will be the presentation of the core results of the DEMO plant and of the CIRCforBIO platform. A guided tour to the CIRCforBIO biorefinery will also take place where the participants may see the system in operation, the crops cultivated on the produced digestate as well as the car that runs with the produced bioethanol mixture.
